LT2 was one of just three lightweight XK120s specially prepared by Jaguar for international endurance racing in 1951, serving as an important stepping stone in the marque's rise to dominance at Le Mans during the 1950s.
Constructed with lightweight aluminium bodywork and incorporating numerous competition modifications, the LT-series cars represented the cutting edge of Jaguar performance engineering. Their success helped demonstrate the remarkable capabilities of the XK engine and laid the foundations for the famous C-Type and D-Type racing programmes that would follow.
Regarded today as one of the most important surviving early competition Jaguars, LT2 embodies the pioneering spirit, innovation, and sporting ambition that established Jaguar as a world-class racing manufacturer.
