Introduced as the successor to the 400i, the 412 featured an enlarged 4.9-litre Colombo V12 engine producing smooth, abundant power, while numerous mechanical and interior improvements made it the most accomplished of the series. The 4.9-liter V12 was the final road-going application of the "Colombo" engine architecture. Originally designed by Gioacchino Colombo in the 1940s, this engine powered some of the most iconic Ferraris in history.

Produced in relatively small numbers between 1985 and 1989, the Ferrari 412 remains one of Maranello’s rarest road cars. Its restrained styling, hand-built craftsmanship, and magnificent naturally aspirated V12 have earned it a growing reputation as one of the marque’s most sophisticated and underrated classics.
